RO Reject - Water Treatment System

Reverse Osmosis (RO) is known for making very pure water, but RO also makes a lot of wastewater known as RO Reject or RO Brine Concentrate. This saline water may be prohibitive to discharge in the local sewer, and hauling the wastewater to a treatment facility is expensive.

Evaporation is one of the most economical and environmentally safe ways to dispose of brackish or salty water. The complete water treatment system is free of complicated machinery and chemistry, and it will Save You Money in the long-run.

Met-Chem can design a RO Reject – Water Treatment System for your specific wastewater application. It is possible to achieve Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) and have a closed-looped water treatment system.

RO Reject Water Treatment

Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) System

Achieving Zero Liquid Discharge (ZDL) can be accomplished with an Evaporator and a Filter Press. RO Reject / RO Concentrate is stored in a holding tank until it is ready to be processed. The wastewater is pumped into a heated tank system where the Evaporator will evaporate the water. The wastewater will concentrate and thicken. The thickened slurry will be pumped into a filter press to capture the solids. The filter press will  also keep the heated tank clean and provide a seamless operation. The filtered water from the filter press is returned back into the heated tank for evaporation.

RO Reject - Water Treatment System | Options & Installation

Met-Chem can manufacture the Complete Water Treatment System. The Evaporator and Heated Tank System can be manufactured with a gas-fired burner, steam coil or electric heater. Each Filter Press will be designed to your specifications. The manifold and piping can be constructed using, but not limited to CPVC, Carbon Steel, or Stainless Steel. As your operation grows, our filter presses can be expanded by adding additional filter plates, reducing the need to purchase new costly equipment.

Evaporator

An Atmospheric Evaporative Tank is an excellent solution for wastewater reduction and Water Evaporation. It is free of complicated machinery and chemistry, and it can actually save you money.

Those looking for the greatest evaporation rates at a given temperature will choose an atmospheric evaporator for its high efficiency.

Dewatering of waste solutions can save the users of evaporative tanks thousands of dollars in disposal costs. Where the need is for only 3 to 4 gallons of evaporation per hour, no added heat is required. Heat for evaporation is taken from the room.
