Met-Chem has built a solid reputation for acquiring and refurbishing used filtration equipment in addition to our new equipment lines. We now also offer a large inventory of wastewater treatment and plating equipment. In an effort to keep up with demand, we are continually looking to expand our inventory. Filter Press Reconditioning Overview

Filter Press is stripped.
The frame is sandblasted to remove loose paint and material.
The frame is coated with a two-part epoxy paint.
Hydraulics are inspected, tested repaired, rebuilt or replaced as needed.
Filter plates are stripped clean, and pressure washed.
New cloths are installed.
Filter press plate O-Rings are inspected and replaced as needed.
All piping is inspected and replaced as needed.
Filter Press is reassembled and tested. You are welcomed to inspect and buy-off on the unit before final payment.
Reconditioned items come with a standard 30-day warranty from date of the ship. Subject to review for your needs.

Clarifier Reconditioning Overview

The outside of the Clarifier is stripped
The outside Clarifier is sandblasted/sanded to remove loose paint and material.
The Clarifier is coated with a two-part epoxy paint.
The inside of the Clarifier is stripped.
The plate packs are removed and repaired, replaced as needed.
The inside of the Clarifier is needle scaled/sanded to remove loose paint and material.
Coal tar is reapplied to the inside of the clarifier.
The clarifier is leak tested and welds are repaired.
All piping is inspected and replaced as needed.
The clarifier is reassembled and tested. You are welcomed to inspect and sign-off on the unit before final payment.
Reconditioned items come with a standard 30-day warranty from date of the ship. Subject to review for your needs.

Most other equipment on our Used Inventory List can also be refurbished using similar methods to Filter Presses and Clarifiers.

During the reconditioning process, you are always welcomed to visit us and inspect our progress, and we will be happy to provide periodic updates with e-mailed photos if desired.

Let Met-Chem Change Your Filter Press Cloths

Met-Chem understands the time constraints put onto manufacturing facilities and there is often not enough time in the day or enough manpower available to perform maintenance such as Replacing the Filter Press Cloths in your filter press. If you do not have the time or manpower to change your filter press cloths, there are several options available to help with this issue

Option 1

First, a set of plates, as small as 2, can be purchased from Met-Chem. This will allow you to swap out old plates with these new plates 2 at a time. This will allow you to take your time to change these two cloths. Once these two are done they can be swapped out for the next two that need done. This is performed until all the plates have been reclothed.

Option 2

A second option is to send the filter press plates to Met-Chem to have them professionally changed be our Met-Chem Installation Team. The filter press plates will have their old cloths and gaskets removed. The plates will be given a thorough acid wash and then power washed. We will then install the new cloths and new gaskets. If you are able to have your filter press shutdown for a few days we can quickly perform the work on your plates and get them back ASAP. If you are not able to be down for a few days then we can provide you with either a full set of new plates or a partial set of filter press plates. As with option one, we will provide new plates with cloths and gaskets in the quantity that works for your timeline and budget. Once the new plates are installed in your filter press you will send your old plates to Met-Chem and we will perform the work on your current plates and send back once completed.
